Chondroitin 1200 mg
The recent GAIT study by the National Institutes of Health studies the effects of glucosamine and chondroitin for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Those participants with moderate-to-severe pain showed significant pain relief when taking the combination of 1500 mg of Glucosamine HCL and 1200 mg of Chondroitin Sulfate daily.2

Glucosamine & Osteoarthritis
Glucosamine supplements may help slow bone turnover, according to a recent study1 by the University of Toronto published in the May 2007 issue of Arthritis & Rheumatism.
Researchers studied sixteen rabbits with osteoarthritis and ten control rabbits. Approximately half were treated with glucosamine daily and half were given a placebo.
The study concluded that the high bone turnover in rabbits with osteoarthritis was significantly reduced in glucosamine-treated animals. Slowing bone turnover is beneficial for those with osteoarthritis.4
National Institute of Health’s GAIT Study
The recent study by the National Institutes of Health, Glucosamine/Chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT) published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2006, tested the effects of Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
